The Winter Solstice

Today marks the Winter Solstice, the shortest day and the longest night in the Northern Hemisphere. It represents the birthing of the light which grows longer each day as we enter the time of spring awakening.
Traditionally, we are celebrating the birth of the Christ light, the awakening of the light within each of us. Over time, we may have allowed our light within to dim because of disappointment or loss but at anytime we can recognize our inherent nature and allow the light that is us, has always been us to shine once again in all of its brilliance.
That light is your connection to source, to God or whatever you call your connection to the creative life force from which we all have come. Make this Holiday Season of 2011 be the brightest one ever for you. Be the light of love for yourself, your family, your friends and the world
Affirmation: I let my light shine!

A Quiet Mind in a Busy Season

A Quiet Mind in a Busy Season
December 12, 2011 | posted in: Spirituality | by

During the holiday season when life becomes wonderfully busy, it is important to take daily quiet time. Just fifteen minutes of slow deep breathing will calm your nerves, relax your body and focus your mind. Ideas flow effortlessly when you take the time to listen. Becoming centered in meditation is like taking a mini vacation away from the routine of your day.

After quieting my mind, I like to script my day. I think of appointments I have and see them completed successfully, set intentions for my “to do” list for that day and declare that all of my interactions with other be open, clear, loving and productive. When I take the time to script my day, I find that my days flow effortlessly and joyously.

Affirmation for today:
Today, my life flows smoothly, effortlessly and joyously.

Courage in the Face of Fear

“Courage is the mastery of fear, not the absence of fear.” Mark Twain.

Change can bring up fear or excitement. It just depends on our perception. When we look at relationships, we can see that change feeds the soul in ways that opens dialogues with others that would not happen otherwise. We know we cannot change others but only have the ability to change ourselves. From that awareness, we can clearly see that every change is an opportunity to learn more about ourselves and to extend the boundaries of our world. When we become stagnant, perhaps out of fear, we limit our life experience. But when we allow the fear to show itself and have the courage to step forward in the face of fear, trusting that we will be guided and protected, life becomes the glorious adventure it is meant to be.

Courage is the ability to step through the changes in our life with faith; to know that there is good in every one of life’s transitions; to believe that divine guidance will lead us; to listen and follow that inner voice. In the midst of trauma, tragedy, confusion or fear, there is a still small voice that can be felt when we become quiet. We are never alone either in joyous transitions or difficult ones. We are connected to a source of power that will soothe our heart, calm our mind and lead us out of the darkness into the light.

Turn within, ask for guidance, relax and allow answers, new ideas, love and peace to flow over you. Trust that all things are working together for good in your life. Give thanks that good is yours.

Affirmation for today:
All things are working together for good in my life.

Trust the Process

There comes a time in the creative process after we have defined our desire, visualized it, set out intention and moved into inspired action, that we release it and trust that we will draw the perfect manifestation of our desire. To trust the process is;

To recognize that we are connected to the wisdom of the universe;

To understand that our human mind alone does not create;

To realize that our desire may come forth in a different but far better form then we visualized.

The intelligence of God moves in wondrous and mysterious ways when we allow it to be the driving force behind our desired creations.

Life is a glorious mystery that reveals itself little by little as we open to receive it. Just when we think that we have it all figured out, we are presented with something that causes us to retreat into the mystery again. Asking why only deepens the confusion. The mystery lives in the unseen nature of our being. Our 5 senses define the physical world for us, but it is our 6th sense or our intuition that shows us the greater dimension of who we are.

It is in our quiet moments or our meditation that we catch glimpses of our inner world. That feeling of peace that brings with it the faith that all is well. When our heart sings with joy and we know life is good. That is the clarity that comes when we listen in the silence. The answer we have been seeking suddenly pops into our mind. All of this occurs because we have allowed ourselves to dance in the mystery of life that lives in the non-physical dimensions. We are never alone in this human experience. There is a stream of consciousness that we are extensions of that is forever flowing the energy of God to us, through us and as us.

Affirmation for the week:

I am dancing in the mystery of life, knowing that the wisdom, love, peace and joy of the universe is guiding and directing my path. I listen and respond easily and effortlessly. Thank you God.
